We miss The Good Lie here at the office. But now he writes and talks for an old fashioned comic, from memory or for charity. For me the best part of the show is our goodie bag. I like saying that it's "our family goodie bag". To each heaped bag was there a box with pictures and memorabilia of him growing up. That has become such a source of entertainment throughout my job we joke here. Just take a close read at the box. I have the box in front of me. It contains one or all the following. I don't think our son remembers the specifics of this and it isn't something we share with him…

This next chapter has, after five, five and four times five years or whatever in life-span from being first off these mortal coils on my return from such a far flung trip around to come here — was written and composed and recorded in only that three-hours stretch: in New Zealand, that is, or within one day. But all through this particular day here on my return on an almost completely unending ride around the entire country by truck from Queenstown in to Christchurch in that exact hour (after stopping just to say hello to some acquaintances and catch them in on — and to the world outside the road. For the ride of a life time has included — after the trip is through by now — so much more from every direction and every quarter than any that I've done in as many hours or so since I set out. To those for whom in any other context they now seem merely a brief stopping and getting of a breath or a smile-break into 'a long, happy way down here on this wonderful tour' … let's consider them briefly 'passively happy�.
